As Director of Marketing, I take an active role in the overall strategic planning for the firm as we seek out new project opportunities that allow us to engage with and enrich communities in a way that supports our mission of bettering the educational experience through design. We seek to be leaders in the field of educational facility design and I support this effort through strengthening firm identity and recognition, curation and publication of market knowledge, and engagement with communities, educational facility representatives and peers.
As part of our strategic planning and project pursuit, I get the opportunity to develop an understanding of the users’ needs and goals which allows our design team to develop a strong connection with the project stakeholders. I believe that while a portfolio of previous work helps establish our commitment to design excellence and representation of intrinsic beauty, our design teams are most often hired because of their understanding of our potential client’s project aspirations and our ability to connect with stakeholders on those goals.
Prior to joining the architectural field, I worked in the education, public relations and publications departments of the Washington State Historical Society. My work there gave me a deep appreciation of how our communities took root and how they have evolved over time. It gives me perspective on how future generations will view our work. I am thankful that every day I get to come to work in a place that works to better our society.
