Charles Van Ausdell

Staff Architect

My primary role at McGranahan is as a Staff Architect. I find the most rewarding aspect of architecture to be its ability to affect our built environment through social and environmental sustainability. The community is who we design for, whether the project is public or private; our buildings will affect everyone around and we should all strive to contribute positively to our shared built environment. Professionally, I aspire to continually refine my technical abilities and knowledge while expanding my understanding of sustainable design. I think having life experiences outside of work helps maintain the creative problem solving and focus required to build a building. I find that getting outside, playing with my kids, and riding my bike helps me maintain focus and energy for my work.
