McGranahan Architects is looking for Director of Design to lead teams in the design of exemplary learning environments. We’re looking for a leader who is forward thinking and thrives in a collaborative environment. Working directly with design team leaders they help establish, develop and implement firm design goals and strategies with the expressed objective of improving design quality and maintaining a strong design culture in the office. They actively advise other Directors and firm Principals in strategic aspects of the firm including research, professional development, market trends and project staffing. They provide direct design oversight of ongoing projects and mentoring of design staff. The Director will also serve on a project team either in a lead or support design role. Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Architecture from an accredited University.
- Current registration as a State Licensed Architect.
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in architecture as a lead designer.
- Experience mentoring other designers and leading firm wide design initiatives.
- Educational design experience preferred.
- Director must be a proven designer themselves, with excellent verbal, written and graphic communication abilities, as well as strong interpersonal communication skills.

Salary range for this role is $110,000 to $130,000 and will be based on overall candidate qualifications and experience. We operate within a hybrid work model, supporting flexibility between office time and work from home.
