Cebula Hall Engineering Building
Client: Saint Martin's University
Size: 26,900 sf
Location: Lacey, WA
The recently completed Engineering Building contains mechanical and civil engineering laboratories, and faculty offices. The project is on track to be one of the highest rated LEED Platinum projects in the United States at a remarkably low cost of $205 per s.f., dispelling the notion that LEED Platinum buildings cost 5%-12% above similar non sustainable lab buildings. Features include rooftop photo voltaic panels and a ground loop system to supply much of the HVAC system. The labs include thermal, environmental, structural, and mechanics and materials. The project incorporates a number of building learning tools that exhibit systems relevant to both civil and mechanical engineering programs.
