Project Designer, Principal for Marketing

I believe architecture responds to the spirit of the place, the zeitgeist. I believe the community is a large part of that spirit, and they help define what a building wants to be and what it should be. They are the social context for all our work. As a Project Designer, I work within project boundaries to refine and clarify the design of a project to the fullest extent possible. I work to sharpen the design focus of the project team and pull the concept and design ideals into every aspect of the project, no matter how small. I aspire to create space that enhances the daily life of students, families, teachers, and community members. I aim to leave a positive legacy of engagement and beauty with every client.

My faith plays a large role in my approach to architecture and I believe that designing is an act of worship. I believe that it is a reflection of our true nature and that through the act of creating beauty in architecture I am imagining and worshiping God through my work. I also believe that the interaction between humans and the built environment is never a passive event. It is my hope that the work we do at McGranahan will provide a positive experience for every user of every space, every day.
